Botulinum toxin in Brussels

As you age, has your skin begun to sag, causing wrinkles around your eyes? Are you increasingly considering injections for forehead wrinkles? Do you have a gummy smile and are thinking about botulinum toxin? Professional and attentive, your aesthetic doctor welcomes you to her surgery near Uccle for a botulinum toxin session tailored to your needs and expectations.

When is botulinum toxin indicated?

In medical aesthetics, botulinum toxin, commonly known as "Botox®", is widely used to treat wrinkles, especially expression lines such as crow's feet at the corners of the eyes and frown lines between the eyebrows. It works by relaxing the muscles responsible for facial expressions and, thus, wrinkles. Botulinum toxin serves both curative and preventive roles.

Increasingly used for prevention, botulinum toxin is the go-to treatment for rejuvenating the eye area. Its illuminating and tightening effects offer many advantages that are often underappreciated. Consequently, botulinum toxin is also indicated for:

Botulinum toxin injection
  • Treating a gummy smile.
  • Addressing bunny lines, the small wrinkles on the upper nose.
  • Erasing forehead wrinkles;
  • Reducing platysmal bands.
  • Smoothing a puckered chin.
  • And even treating excessive sweating, known medically as hyperhidrosis.

How is the consultation conducted with your aesthetic doctor in Brussels?

During an initial consultation, your aesthetic doctor will discuss your expectations and needs to make a diagnosis. If the doctor determines that injections are suitable for the skin issue you wish to address, she will explain the session procedure and care protocol. You will also have a reflection period during which Dr. Nesma JEBBARI will be available to answer all your questions.

Prior to the session, you must follow your doctor’s recommendations. Some medications, such as anti-inflammatories and anticoagulants, will be contraindicated in the week preceding the botulinum toxin treatment. You should also avoid saunas, steam baths, and extreme cold in the days following the treatment. On the day of the appointment, you should avoid sun exposure and alcohol consumption.

During the session, your doctor will prepare the treatment area (cleansing, disinfection) before injecting the botulinum toxin into multiple small points using very fine needles. The procedure is minimally painful and does not require anesthesia.

Botulinum toxin injections can also be combined with hyaluronic acid injections, for a complete facial treatment, resulting in an even more harmonious and natural look.

Wrinkles begin to fade within the first few days following the session, with the full effects of botulinum toxin becoming apparent about 15 days after the injection. The face appears more relaxed, rested, and youthful. The effects of botulinum toxin last for about 4 to 6 months, and the treatment can be repeated after this period.
